Pacquiao, already the first congressman to win a world title, is badly aiming to be the first senator in history to win a boxing title, also. Pacquiao (58-6-2, 38 KOs) said he is also very motivated to win back the world title he lost against Floyd Mayweather last year in boxing’s most highly anticipated fight.

Also, Pacquiao is an eight-division world champion, something he takes great pride in. It is a record that trainer Freddie Roach thinks will not be broken in his lifetime.

Jessie Vargas is the current WBO welterweight champion, and being 10 years younger, is tipped to prove a tough opponent for Pacman. He has been supremely confident about the fight and had a big smile as he walked to the scale. It remained in place when he spoke to the crowd after making weight.
