The Cleveland Cavaliers Takes Their First Win Of The Season Over The Boston Celtics (102-89)
The Cavs Prevailed Against the Celtics 102-89. The Fans of both teams are excited for the NBA opening night. The New look Cleveland Cavaliers are ready for another playoff run. After losing Star point guard Kyrie Irving. The Cavs got new reinforcements with Jae Crowder, Isaiah Thomas, NBA 2008 MVP Derrick Rose, and 3-Time NBA Champion Dwyane Wade.
It was an explosive start for both teams trading off shots, until at the 6:45 minute mark of the 1st quarter when new celtic player Gordon Harward fell awkwardly from a backdoor cut and suffered a gruesome ankle injury. The crowd and the players were all in shock after what happen with Gordon Hayward who was playing his first regular season game with the Celtics.
But after a heartbreaking event, the game must continue. It was a close game until LeBron James made the low post layup over Jaylen Brown which gave the Cavs a one-point lead late the 4th quarter. After that the Celtics were not able to score on the other end. The Cavs secured the lead when Kevin Love drains the dagger 3-pointer which gives them a 4-point lead. LeBron James drops off another stellar performance with 29 points, 16 rebounds, and 9 assists. Kevin Love ended up with 15 points along with 11 boards.
Meanwhile for the Boston Celtics, Kyrie Irving led the charge but fell short at the end after missing the game-tying 3 point shot that could send the game in OT. Irving ended up with 22 points and dished out 10 assist in his season debut with the Celtics. The Rookie, Jayson Tatum showcased his basketball skills and added up 14 points with 10 rebounds. 2nd year guy Jaylen Brown puts up strong numbers with 25 points and 6 rebounds.
