The used to be full packed passenger bus of Manny Pacquiao was surprisingly under half its capacity. The 54-capacity bus left Los Angeles Monday for the five-hour trip to Las Vegas. It was just a little over 20 passenger along with details of his upcoming fight with Jessie Vargas.
According to one of Pacquiao’s senatorial staff, this is the first time ever it happened that the said bus was not full.
From the previews fights, die-hard fans used to reserve for seats in this free trip from Pacquiao’s training base in Los Angeles to Sin City. However, this is not the case now as a lot of empty seats were left unoccupied leaving those aboard to take the liberty to occupy two seats for themselves for added comfort.
Now we can’t stop to wonder and speculate if no one is that interested in this particular fight. and maybe dwindling fans and supporters are shrinking.
But the real reason, however, is cost cutting.
“Many of those who come to see Manny’s fights in Las Vegas do so as long as Pacquiao, shoulders everything – their plane ticket to the US, fight ticket, and hotel accommodation. This is no longer the case for this fight,” said a source close to Pacquiao who asked not to be named.
“Manny no longer shouldered their accommodation,” the source added.
Pacquiao is will be leaving the day after the fight for Manila, not the usual two days after like he used to.
He will be taking some of the members of his entourage with him straight back to the Philippines. Which means more, empty seats in the Pacquiao Bus on the way back home.
